Antifa Tried to Buy Guns from Mexican Cartel
According to a recently unveiled FBI report, migrants crossing into the United States isn’t the only problem the nation is facing at the southern border.
TheBlaze reported that the FBI investigated “anti-fascist” activists who wanted to purchase weapons from a Mexican drug cartel, so they could “stage an armed rebellion” and cause chaos at the southern border during the continuing crisis there.
The San Diego-Union Tribune acquired documents that revealed the reported plot and the government’s resulting probe.
The shocking FBI information was dated December 2018.
It outlined a suspected plot where Antifa militants planned to purchase weapons from the alleged Mexican cartel gunman known as “Cobra Commander.”
Their purpose was to “stage an armed rebellion at the border” in the hopes of disrupting “U.S. law enforcement and military security operations at the US/Mexican border.”
According to TheBlaze, “The FBI learned of the plot while collecting intelligence on American journalists, lawyers, and activists working with migrants in the Tijuana region, a popular destination for migrants heading north from Central America.”
The San Diego-Union Tribune revealed that the six-page, condemning document is an “information report, not finally evaluated intelligence.”
But, the FBI placed a “priority” mark on it and forwarded it to multiple federal law enforcement agencies including:
Central Intelligence Agency
Department of Homeland Security
Customs and Border Protection
Immigration and Customs Enforcement
National Security Council
Drug Enforcement Agency
The report named two individuals, Evan Duke and Ivan Riebeling, who supposedly schemed to create camps in Mexico that were to be utilized to train activists to become “community defense militias.”
The San Diego-Union Tribune unveiled that the report said, “Organizers planned for the camps to be used as staging platforms from which five person units would form to train anarchists in fighting, combat, and conducting reconnaissance, and then launch to disrupt U.S. government operations along the border.”
Interestingly, both Duke and Riebeling denied participating in the plot. Duke told the San Diego-Union Tribune, “Here I find the government again trying to tie me into some (stuff) I wasn’t involved in.” Riebeling admitted to the newspaper that he assisted migrant caravans once.
However, he said he later determined to attack them, referring to them as his “enemies.” The FBI’s report connected Riebeling to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
Denying association with this group, Riebeling insisted, “I am not cartel. I don’t sell drugs. I don’t sell arms. I’m a revolutionary. A man who believes in his ideals, and I’m going to defend Mexico.”
He went on to contend, “The government of the United States knows perfectly well that I am not a member of any cartel. I have associates with several of the cartels, yes I do, but I am not a narco-trafficker and they know that.”
Antifa is all too infamous for creating chaos in the country in recent years.
Late last year, Fox News reported that, “A self-described left-wing Antifa group posted videos of a mob outside the Washington, D.C., home of Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Wednesday evening, chanting, ‘Tucker Carlson, we will fight. We know where you sleep at night.’”
Smash Racism, D.C. posted the video, which has since been deleted, on social media.
In September of 2018, this same organization made the news when activists confronted U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, Republican – Texas, and his wife Heidi Cruz inside an eatery at the time of Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
On Facebook, the leftist group posted that it wanted to even the score with Carlson who spreads “fear into our homes.”
The organization posted, “Each night you remind us that we are not safe. Tonight, we remind you that you are not safe either.”
The post has subsequently been taken down. According to Fox News, “Carlson, host of ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight,’ was not home at the time.
He said his wife, Susie, was home alone and heard the commotion from the kitchen.
She called the police and locked herself into a pantry, he said.
His brother — who lives close by — arrived about the same time as law enforcement.”
After conservative activist Candace Owens testified on Capital Hill about the increasing threat of far-left organizations such as Antifa, she was harassed by the group after she arrived at the University of Pennsylvania on April 15, 2019 for a speech.
One America News Network reported that Owens tweeted in part, “Antifa is here!! Enjoy this video of the neo-KKK stalking and harassing me as I try to invite a group of peaceful black students into my event at UPENN. The Democrat’s domestic terrorist arm strike again!”
Antifa is beyond out of control.
Thankfully, the country has brave individuals like Carlson and Owens who will not be silenced by these anarchist, far-left bullies.
