Trump’s Tweet Warnings Trigger Dems
All of the Democrats are coming unglued, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi claiming that the president attacked Iran bases, which killed the top Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, and Congress was not notified. It is another tactic of the Democrats to throw President Trump under the bus again as he does his job as Commander in Chief. Under the War Powers Act of 1973, the president has the power to call decisive attacks when necessary without Congress’ consent. This, however, is a false statement since the president tweeted as he always does, and it suffices as President Trump dismisses all of the criticism from his foes in Congress.
With everyone on vacation from the holidays, President Trump was still at work as the Commander in Chief when American soldiers requested assistance in Iran as additional troops were immediately deployed, and drone attacks took out Iran’s top general. The decision took much heat and criticism from congressional Democrats. Their tears were about how Trump is not respecting the legislative branch when authorizing military action overseas in the Middle East. That is very hard to do since it was a decision that needed immediate action, and the legislative branch was not in the office.
The Commander in Chief acted swiftly and decisively in his call to military action. As he was also on vacation from the holidays, he tweeted this response from Palm Beach, Florida from his Mar-a-Lago Club, “These Media Posts will serve as notification to the United States Congress that should Iran strike any U.S. person or target, the United States will quickly & fully strike back, & perhaps in a disproportionate manner. Such legal notice is not required, but is given nevertheless!”
How much is more notification needed for Democrats? As he stated, there is no call for an announcement, but he gave the warning anyway. The American troops are the ones stationed in the Middle East, and the swift act saved their lives. The same statement Trump made in his Tweet was reiterated in the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s interview on “Fox News Sunday.” Pompeo said, “The administration will take responses that are appropriate and commensurate with actions that threaten American lives.”
The War Powers Act of 1973 clearly states the president has the power to call on military forces to attack, and all the Commander in Chief has to do is notify Congress within 48 hours after the call is made. It does not state he has to go through Congress to get the job done. However, if he had to do that, it would have turned into another Benghazi. President Trump’s decision was sufficed, and so was his announcement to Congress within the adequate time frame.
With Benghazi during former President Obama and Secretary of State at the time, Hillary Clinton, help was requested more than once. All requests were denied, and no one was on vacation. It’s a matter of fact, they all watched it unfold and refused to do anything about it. It caused the deaths of innocent Americans, and the blood is on their hands. Thankfully, we now have a president who will not sit back and watch. Trump did his job, and he did it well. The Trump administration has the justification and the means to provide in the decision whether Congress approves or not.
After a certain number of days, Congress will have its say on whether or not to declare war on Iran or end the attacks. As Iran is already weak through the sanctions placed on them by the Trump administration, if war is declared, Iran would not be able to withstand American forces or the military equipment we have against them.
What is amazing is how we continue to catch the Democrats in their filthy lies as they claim there was no notification and that they knew nothing of the attack. Everyone knew about the deployment of the thousands of troops sent to Iran. It was all over the news and social media. President Trump followed the proper procedure in notifying Congress of the attack.
In a military tactic, never let the enemy know what you are doing. He waited till after because no one can be trusted with an announcement of an attack. Trump is not the first president to do this, but he sure gets attacked for doing the right thing. The Democrats called for the GOP to read the 25th Amendment. Maybe they need to read it and shut up before criticizing Trump.
