Police for Me but Not for Thee! Defund the Police Activist Milano Calls Police on Teen Armed With Toy Gun

Alyssa Milano has made the jump from actress to activist, like so many other Hollywood airheads. While most of her rhetoric doesn’t make its way across our desk, this one was particularly ridiculous. “The Black activists, organizers, and advocates who have been fighting for abolition aren’t asking for your permission or thoughts on their movement. Please stop trying to whitesplain #DefundThePolice. Let our spectacular Black Leaders lead us to a better way,” she tweeted on June 11.

She added a Black Lives Matter hashtag for good measure. This tweet is still up right now because she hasn’t been smart enough to delete it. “This is the problem. We’ve militarized the police. To protect and serve? Please. How many hungry children would the cost of this tank feed? How many community programs would this serve? How many classroom supplies or childcare programs? Mental health services?#DefundPolice” reads another tweet that she fired off eight days later.

Milano is also an outspoken gun-control activist. “Hey, @Walmart! This would be a great opportunity for you to take a true leadership position and stop selling guns” was her take on this topic just last summer. She’s got the quote tweeting part of activism down pat but her actual principles? Those seem to be pretty shaky, from where we are sitting.

When gunshots rang out near Milano’s property, she and her husband didn’t have anything woke to say about the police. The officers sprung into action. The couple claimed that the shots were scary for their dogs and they believed that the gunman was nearby. They described him as a 40-year-old male who was carrying a long rifle.

The photos from the scene are patently ridiculous. Seven helicopters arrived at the home and there were multiple officers stationed outside of the gate with rifles of their own. Milano sure seemed to forget her stance on the police once she was forced to deal with the slightest whiff of danger, didn’t she? It’s funny how that one works.

A three-hour manhunt for the shooter ensued. Of course, Milano and her husband did not waste the police’s time and effort. They were out in these mean Hollywood streets tracking down the culprit. Was it a scary middle-aged man with a long rifle, like they claimed at the time? Anyone who has been paying a modicum of attention to the news as of late probably knows where this story is going.

“It turned out it was a neighborhood teen with an air gun shooting at squirrels”, said a local resident. He was just a kid having some innocent kicks and Milano turned him into some sort of dangerous criminal. This incident has been dubbed “Squirrelgate” by the other residents of this neighborhood. They are definitely having a few laughs at her expense at the moment.

This is the Daily Mail’s version of events. Milano’s is much different. After all, she needs to save face for her Twitter followers. She spouted all that “defund the police” rhetoric on Twitter and in reality? Milano lives by absolutely none of it. She’s doubling down on the lie, too.

“Apparently, rightwing media & trolls have decided that they should target me because my neighbor called the police after seeing a person dressed in black holding a rifle behind my home where I live with my young children and husband. Here is my statement and what really happened,” read her tweet. She’s even implying that this was a set up to make her look foolish.

Milano’s statement on the matter was especially hilarious because of all the praise for the police. Why couldn’t she have said all of this before? Now that her “neighbor” called the police and saved the day, she’s singing a different tune. Her story about what took place here is far too convenient for us to believe and we hope that no one else is this gullible.
