The news has been full of stories about liberal colleges and universities that are forcing their students to learn more about critical race theory. These schools are also making the children take in all sorts of anti-racist principles that do not make much sense. Of course, the results have already been disastrous but that is not putting a stop to the schools’ woke mania.
While we have all seen the stories about the aforementioned programs, we have yet to see any meaningful coverage of all the race hustlers who have used these schools as a means of lining their own pockets. That was beyond predictable to anyone who actually pays attention. That’s all these schools care about anyway: the almighty dollar.
If they can make themselves appear to be woke while also getting rich? That’s the dream. Anyone who thinks this is really about teaching white kids about race has lost the plot completely. The Federalist uncovered a prime example of this in the state of Illinois recently.
Naperville, Ill., School District 203 had a recent Zoom meeting that brings the problem into much clearer focus. Dena Nicole is a “diversity consultant” who would be providing them with an important address that day. It did not take long before she launched into all sorts of attacks on the white parents, letting them know just how terrible they are as human beings.
That was not the surprising part. We expected this. The crazy part came when it was time to pay Nicole. You would think that the administrators who are all gung ho about this stuff would be the ones who are footing the bill. That was not the case here. The taxpayers are the ones who are on the hook for it. She does not come cheap, either.
“According to documents released in response to an open records request, Naperville, Ill., School District 203 paid a diversity consultant, Dena Nicole Simmons, $10,500 for a 60-minute Zoom “keynote” address at its 2021 Equity Institute late last month—a rate of $175 per minute. In one hour, the “anti-racism” consultant earned the equivalent of about two month’s salary for some teachers in the school district.
Damn. How the hell do I get this gig? White ppl, I will tell you horrible things about yourself for half this! I can do it! https://t.co/NxA2BRsci5

The controversial Feb. 28 event, first reported in The Federalist, raised alarm bells when a whistleblower said Simmons told attendees “our education is based on a foundation of whiteness” and that Americans are “spiritually murdering” students. In addition, parroting the refrain of the “anti-racist” movement, Simmons told attendees that if they were not an “anti-racist,” they were racist,” the Federalist shares.
Social media immediately offered up some funny responses to this story. “Damn. How the hell do I get this gig? White ppl, I will tell you horrible things about yourself for half this! I can do it!” tweeted Kira Davis. This is exactly where we stand on this. There are a lot of people who could probably handle this gig. Who wouldn’t love to rake in the big bucks just to tell white people how awful they are?
We’re not going to get into the nuts and bolts of her speech. That’s already been covered elsewhere and we don’t really need to rehash it here. The amount she was paid is what is driving us absolutely insane. There are public school teachers who struggle to take home $20,000 per year. Instead of making sure that these important people are compensated, this school will blow $10,000 just to have someone come tell the white people that they are, in fact, bad.
She hauled in $175 per minute to say a bunch of things that could have been predicted before the conference even started. Even the white people probably had a strong idea of what they were going to be told. We don’t need to keep going and going on this but we are standing with anyone who is ticked off about this. This country’s schools are headed in a very dangerous direction and anyone can see it.
