Former Biden Border Chief Says Admin Spent $5 Million a Day NOT to Build the Wall

By now, it’s pretty clear that the Biden administration has done little else besides waste Americans’ hard-earned money and time. Between his thoughtless leaving of billions in equipment and weapons behind in Afghanistan and the now combined $4.5 trillion he is asking to spend for infrastructure, what other conclusion could be made?

But that’s not even the worst of it, is it?

If you don’t already know, Biden has wasted billions, and yes, I mean literal billions, of your taxpayer money in an effort to spite Donald Trump and his immigration efforts.

But don’t just take my word for it.

Instead, I give you the words of Biden’s own former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott. In an interview on Tuesday, Scott told Bret Baier of Fox News that the Biden administration was shelling out about $5 million a day to contractors for them not to finish Trump’s famous wall along our southern border.

How could this be happening?

Well, as Scott tells it and as we all know, Biden halted construction of the wall on his very first day in the Oval Office via executive order. In fact, it was one of his first official moves as President of the United States. But while it ceased actual construction of the wall, it did nothing to end the already signed into action and paid for contracts with builders and suppliers. And so, for these contractors to not do what they were previously tasked to do, Biden had to pay them more.

And is still paying them.

Scott said, “Many of those projects today are just still on hold, so we’re paying contractors. For a while, it was almost $5 million a day between (the Department of Defense) and (the Department of Homeland Security) to not build the border wall.”

He continued saying the materials are even already there, “stacks and stacks of border wall panels,” hundreds of miles of fiber optic cabling,” and “hundreds of cameras” are “just sitting. There is no action being taken.”

Except that we, the American taxpayer, are spending our hard-earned money for someone in the desert to watch all of this rust and decay in the elements.

In all, a report released in July by the Senate Subcommittee on Government Operations and Border Management says that the U.S. has spent somewhere between $1.838 billion and $2.087 billion on this inaction since January 20 of this year.

And that’s on top of the money DoD contractors overseeing the construction of wall had already been given in January to handle “wall-related projects,” some $10 billion, according to a new release ranking subcommittee member Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma.

“By the end of June, the Biden Administration has wasted roughly 20 percent ($2 billion) of the $10 billion meant to build the way to pay contractors to watch steel rust in the desert.”

Now, June did see a drop in the amount being shelled out to these contractors. According to the report, the cost per day is down to about $3 million now.

So. while contractors are making a fat roll of cash off of our federal government who just raised the debt ceiling so our economy could simply stay afloat, Americans see their tax money, which, by the way, is also on the rise, literally seep into the sands of the desert. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of illegal migrants are making their way to the U.S. every day without so much as a picket fence blocking their entrance.

And as Scott told Baier, the Biden admin knew these massive waves would be coming. And yet, they did nothing but make it even easier for illegals. Instead of having a couple of hundred “encounters” a day as the border patrol did before, with Biden’s clear message to immigrants out, we are now seeing “about 6,000 encounters a day,” Scott says.

According to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, over 1.5 million illegal crossers were apprehended in August alone. And that’s just the ones who were caught. All in all, the number of those caught at the border so far this year is more than the populations of 11 American states combined.

And we’re far from seeing those numbers drop. According to current trends, September’s numbers will be about 200,000 higher than those of August’s. Compare that the 458,000 encounters experienced in all of 2020.

At this point, it would be cheaper, not to mention safer and better for his reputation, if Biden just allowed the wall to be built and put Trump’s immigration policies back in place.
